Course Superintendent, Aaron Fluke and his team have completed work on the new 11th hole and reports as follows:
We are excited to present our newly designed 11th hole at Massey Park.
The new hole is a Mark Parker design which has kept the elevated tee hitting down to a much larger 350sqm bent grass green. With two strategically placed bunkers at the front and right hand side of the green, shot making becomes more selective. The new green also allows for a variety of pin positions for both the fun and more important golfing events on the Calendar.
The green itself offers subtle movement which will create plenty of interest and the need for some deft touch around the edge of the green and with the putter. The much larger surrounds and fairway has been turfed with kikuyu grass which is consistent with the rest of Massey Park Golf Course and the fairway approaching the green is irrigated which will help provide a healthy manicured turf.
We look forward to the opening of the hole in the coming months and hope that it adds to your golfing experience at Massey Park.
Many thanks.
